Neath Port Talbot Catering Services provide one million school meals a year. Our menus are carefully planned to meet the Welsh Nutritional Guidelines for school lunches by our catering managers, food advisers and saffron nutritional analysis system. Our Catering Staff have undertaken nutrition training so pupils will be encouraged to eat nourishing vegetables or fruit daily and to make healthy choices.
It is our aim to ensure that all pupils can be provided with a healthy, nutritious meal and vegetarians and any special diet requests are catered for.
There is a hot main meal choice including a vegetarian option available daily plus a selection of vegetables, seasonal salads, a pasta option and wholemeal bread. There is also a daily main pudding with an additional option of fruit bowl choice. A daily selection of chilled milk or water are available.
Meals cost £2.20 per day for a two-course meal including a drink and are great value.

The best start to a school day is a healthy nutritious breakfast, the most important meal of the day.
Breakfast Clubs are open before the start of the school day and provide children with breakfast which includes a selection of cereals, wholemeal toast, low fat spread, sugar-free jam, fresh fruit and milk.
Working in partnership with and funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, we have many Primary Schools participating in the Primary School Free Breakfast Initiative.
